About The Internship Program

ELIGIBILITY

This student internship program is for international students enrolled in a degree program at a university in their home country.

–The internship lasts between 6 to18 months.

– The internship must have a professional connection to the education you have started in your home country

CRITERIA

1. Be between 18 and 29 years old, single and have a strong interest in farming.
2. At least one year of study completed
3. Be a full-time active student enrolled in an accredited agriculture college or university in one of the following fields:
(i)Agriculture animal husbandry and production (Cow and swine production animal breeding management
(ii) Agronomy
(iii)Veterinary
(Iv)Equine
(v)Horticulture
(Vi)Forestry
4. Have verifiable English language skills i.e. TOEFL/IELTS
5. The student must return to his home country to finish and obtain a degree after the internship
6. Be open minded to new cultures; enthusiasm and willingness to learn
7. Valid driving license is an added advantage
8. Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond student’s intended stay
9. Sufficient funds to pay the internship costs abroad

RUMUNERATION

When employed as an agriculture intern in Denmark, the working hours and salary are fixed by the Danish collective Agreement. i.e.

I. Working 37 hours per week over 5 days.
II. The salary corresponds to Danish standard and the current collective bargaining agreement for interns in the agriculture sector is:
III. 0-6 months DKK 11,838- Gross per month (equivalent 251, 806 KES)
IV. 18 months – DKK 13.732 Gross per month/ (Equivalent KES 292, 205)
V. 12.5% vacation pay.
VI. Net Salary averages DKK 8,600 after tax deductions

  • Submit Application- Send a CV and a short video telling us who you are and why you’d like to participate in the internship program, including a Letter of Recommendation &Testimonial Results. Attach Passport Photo.
  • Send proof of application fee payment
  1. The first virtual interview with BIC Solutions Limited
  2.  Technical Interview or Evaluation- By our Partner agency in Denmark Spiras HR – https://www.spiras.dk
  3. A Second Technical Evaluation by your identified Host Farmer.
  4. Signing Contract with Spiras HR
  5. Signing of Contract with BIC Solutions Limited

After receiving your contract, you will be expected to make a 50% Deposit () of the
program fee, to be used for:

  • Visa application, processing of Traineeship Permits, Residence Permit, and Student Case Order ID payment.
  • Embassy Biometrics.
  • Receiving of Visa.
  • Collect necessary documents for students and share the same with Spiras
  • Coordinate interviews of students with host farmers
  • Conduct technical training sessions for preparation of students for interviews with host farmer
  • Guide and teach students in basic introduction to the Danish language

 

DOCUMENTS CHECKLIST

It is a good idea to gather the necessary documents before you start to complete the application form. You can use the checklist below.

You must submit

  • Documentation of paid fee. Attach the receipt for your payment
  • Copy of all pages of your passport – including all empty pages and the passport’s front and back cover
  • Copy of signed employment contract (only if your internship is paid)

 

If you are doing an internship in the green sector, you must also submit 

  • Documentation that you have passed a language test in Danish, Swedish, Norwegian, English or German at A2-level or higher according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).
  • For English language tests offered by IELTS, we accept test scores from 3.0.
  • We accept test scores at Studieprøven level (C1 CEFR level) for English language tests offered by TOEFL.
  • The language test must be shared with us and, if needed, verifiable.
  • Documentation that you are currently enrolled in an educational program
  • Approval as a place of internship
  • Declaration stating that the place of internship has an apprentice employed or has tried to employ one (only in case of general lack of places of apprenticeships)
  • Documentation of educational background including a list of subjects
  • Documentation of self-support (only if your internship is unpaid)
  • The place of internship’s description of your work tasks and educational plan

 

Sworn declaration (must be signed and attached if you do not sign the online application with MitID)

 

****Once you receive your VISA, you are required to make payment of the other 50% of the program fees.
